ECO-STORAGE AND ENERGY SAVING: LET THE NUMBERS!

The eco-store Miniconf has kept its promises. The building, made of prefabricated technology class A and operational since June 2012, has a photovoltaic system that provides complete self-supply of the property, in addition to providing energy to other warehouses of the company.
From the date of its opening until March 2013, the eco-magazine with zero impact has allowed a saving of almost 44 tonnes of CO2 and has produced more than 80 MWh of energy.

INAGURATED FIRST MINICONF’S ECO-WAREHOUSE

It began with work the first eco-warehouse, the new storage facility for Miniconf goods. The facility, in addition to other two warehouses in our company, is one of the few industrial buildings in Tuscany made with prefabricated technology class A in terms of energy performance. The facility is a building of 2,400 square meters, it does not produce CO2 and uses no polluting energy. There is also a photovoltaic system integrated into the roof to ensure a perfect alignment with the environment.

The Miniconf eco-warehouse allows the maintenance of constant and ideal temperature in every corner of the building as result of implemented floor heating system which is unique in industrial structures.

The project expresses consistent company policy, which put “person” in the focus of efforts and investments carried out by Miniconf.

A SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT: MINICONF PRESENTS MR FAGUS

The next 20 January Mr Fagus, mascot and testimonial of Miniconf Sustainability Project, will be officially presented. Before the show of Sarabanda Fall Winter 2012, which will take place on the occasion of next Pitti Immagine Bimbo exhibition, the President of Miniconf, Mr Giovanni Basagni, will introduce Mr Fagus, the wise and nice beech which will express the philosophy that has always been leading the company, as well as the attention which has always been paid not only to consumers, but to the social structure and to the environment where Miniconf works. The sustainability project that is being presented today was born a long time ago: as a matter of fact, for as many as ten years Miniconf has been investing in continuous tests on chemical and mechanical safety, committing itself to comply on the one hand with all processes and ethical and social standards included in its Code of Conduct; and on the other, making all those taking part into production comply with these processes and standards as well. The unabridged version of Mr Fagus video, as well and all the contents of the project, will be shown in the Sarabanda stand and in the iDO stand during the show, which will close on the 21 of January.

IDO WINS THE CHILD GUARDIAN AWARD

Miniconf, with its iDO brand and its strategy of web communication, won the prestigious “CHILD GUARDIAN AWARD”, an award devised for those companies which use the image of children responsibly in their communication, promoted by the non-profit Foundation Terre des Hommes Italia, in collaboration with the Fondazione Pubblicità Progresso (a social advertising Foundation).

This communication, which is spread both on the www.ido.it site, on the facebook page “iDo creaCtive children”, on the iDO twitter profile and youtube channel, expresses iDO philosophy in an original and innovative way!

As many as 56 campaigns have competed for the CHILD GUARDIAN AWARD by Terre des Hommes. A panel of experts has chosen the campaigns which could give the most correct image of children, combining the respect for Child’s rights with an effective communication language.

The reasons put forward by the panel of the Child Guardian Award 2011 are the following:

For dealing with the issue of children wear in an original and innovative way. Words are not needed to pass on the strength of creativeness and of spontaneity.
Clothes are worn with naturalness, without imitating the gestures and the gait of grown-up models. In such a way iDO has proved to be able to distinguish itself from stereotypes of the “children’s fashion” category.

Miniconf obtained by Certiquality – accredited verification of the management system for quality, environment, security – the confirmation of the certificate of the Environmental Management System ISO 140001:2004 (read our environmental protection policy).

The strengths of the system identified during the inspection were:
– Efficient control and monitoring for environmental protection,
– Monitoring of air emissions, water discharges, waste management, and safety in the workplace,
– The commitment and involvement in sustainability activities of relevance,
